WHERE TO GO WHEN YOU ARRIVE?

Enter via the side entrance to Haileybury, which is on Hailey Lane.

When you get to Hertford Heath you are on the London road B1197. Pass the main entrance of Haileybury (look out for the black gates and the war memorial on your left). Continue down the hill and take the first turning on your left which is Hailey Lane. Travel 3/4 of a mile up and on your left is a white gate which is the side entrance to Haileybury. Drive straight up and you will see on the left a sandstone facade of the school with columns and the dome of College Chapel. Parking is in front of this on two levels. This is called the 'Terrace'.

Once parked look for signs directing you to ' Big School'!

By Train: y Rail:

There are two main railway stations close to Haileybury. Hertford North - London (Moorgate or Kings Cross) is a 40-minute journey. Broxbourne - London (Liverpool Street) is a 35-minute journey. Hertford North is a 5-minute car/taxi ride from Haileybury and Broxbourne is 10 minutes away. A taxi rank is available immediately outside the station. Numbers of local taxi ranks can be seen below.

By Road:

Haileybury is situated between Hertford and Hoddesdon, about 20 miles north of central London, and is conveniently located close to the A10 Cambridge Road and easily accessible via the M25, A1, M11 and A414.

From Kent & South of London:

Follow the M25 from the Dartford Tunnel and leave at junction 25 to join the A10. Follow the A10 northwards towards Cambridge and exit at the Hoddesdon junction. Travel to the first roundabout, take the first exit left and after a short distance to the next roundabout turn left again to join the Hertford Road, B1197. Travel for 2 miles, passing under the A10. From the South West and West London:

Travel via the M25 and leave at junction 21a to join the A405 and then the A414 to Hatfield. Join the A1(M) northbound at junction 3 and travel for 1.5 miles then leave at junction 4 to join the A414 to Hertford. Following the A414 through the outskirts of Hertford Town towards the A10, turn right onto the B1197, London Road to Hertford Heath at the roundabout at the top of the hill. Travel for 2 miles, passing through Hertford Heath. See top for rest of directions.

From the North:

The approach is either via the A1 and on to the A414 at junction 4, or via the M1 to junction 7 and on to the M10 and thence the A414 to Hertford and Hertford Heath.

From the East and East Anglia:

The approach is from the East via the A12, M25 to junction 25, A10 north to Hoddesdon (see instructions From Kent & South of London) or the A414 via Harlow to Hertford (see instructions from the South West & West of London).

from East Anglia via the M11 to junction 6, M25 to junction 25, A10 north to Hoddesdon or from Suffolk the A14, A11, A505 to Royston, A10 south to Hoddesdon
