NEJC ZUPAN
After a great debut at GNSH 2010, all the way from Slovenia is Nejc Zupan.
We first met Nejc, during a competition in 2007, where he showed the true energy and spirit of the Lindy Hop.
Since then, he has gone from strength to strength sharing his passion for the dance at events all over Europe.
Nejc is a rising figure on the swing scene and one of the main people behind the growing popularity of Lindy Hop in Slovenia.
His experiences in the field of contemporary motion theater, music and classic theater enable him a fresh and amusing approach to teaching and developing the Slovenian swing scene.
He pays special attention to Lindy Hop, Charleston, jazz movement and musicality, which are a sine qua non in swing.

From Ukraine
ANNA IAKSHYNA
This is the very first time that we have had a teacher from the Ukraine at a dance camp in the UK. So with open arms, we welcome Anna Iakshyna.
Anna came to GNSH 2009 and took first place in the Euro Lindy Competiton, amidst many well know dancers from many countries, then returned in 2010 to teach with Nejc.
She has the lindy Hop competiton bug, having swooped FIRST PLACE in top competitions in Ukraine, Hungary and the UK.
For Anna, everything started with her friend's words: “I'm going to check out swing dancing. Do you want to go with me?”
Having tried other dances before, nothing does it for her, like Lindy. she feels that it makes every dance special. It's old, but is developing all the time. It's natural and making people communicate on a dance floor. And for me it opened the world.
Anna will be teaching some classes with Nejc Zupan.

From Surrey, UK
CHRIS & JANET
Chris started dancing and teaching at an early age with Salsa …but soon grew too tall for the Cuban high heels and the high-waisted trousers. Likewise, Janet did village-hall-ballet for years before realising that partner-dancing was much more fun, and throwing away her legwarmers. In the last ten years, both have worked their way through modern jive, salsa, tango and ballroom before finding their way “home” to swing music and Lindy Hop. More recently, both have fallen head-over-heels for Balboa and now realise there is no known cure for their Balboa-itis, which has been known to break out in shopping centres, seafronts, and the middle of a French high street.
Janet and Chris are known for their lively and interactive style of teaching, encouraging people to learn for themselves and look at things from a new angle (they're the only folks we know who use biscuits, window poles and jigsaws to teach musicality ...!) If you're a beginner, they'll make those important basics clearer than you've ever heard them before, and if you've already got some experience of Balboa, they'll guarantee to stretch your skills as well as your thinking, by making moves and patterns easy to pick up for the less experienced…and really challenging those who want it!
Janet is renowned for her amazing Balboa footwork, while Chris – well, any follower will vote him one of the most musical leads in the world, never mind the UK . In fact he's been hand-picked by the world's leading Balboa names to attend the Experiment this year, an invitation-only Balboa training camp… a real honour. Janet won third place in the Amateur Euro Bal Cup at the renowned Frenchie Balboa Festival in Toulouse in 2008 and was a finalist at the Swedish Balboa festival in 2009. They've been running some very successful Balboa workshops around the UK , and are known for their novel teaching style…
.so don't miss this chance to let their enthusiasm inspire you! |

ANDY & DAISY
Started swing-dancing about 10 years ago and having maintained a long interest in the 1930's and 40's era music and dancing, he finally gave into his long harboured desire to jump up and join in.
Learning his craft from some of the finest teachers and Jitterbug champions on both sides of the ocean, he cites dancers, Dean Collins, Jewel McGowan, Hal Takier, Jean Veloz amongst others of that era as some of his greatest inspirations but honesty drives him to renounce all claims that his legs (regularly demonstrated in w or kshops) are as good as Jewel's!!!
Having danced from a tot and become a Royal Ballet scholar, an injury put paid to dreams of a classical dancing career, but not to be discouraged Daisy w or ked her way through numerous dance genres bef or e her interest in hist or ical re-enactment led her to the do or of ‘Swing'.
As the story books say, she hasn't looked back since. Learning from some of the top international teachers who have in turn learnt from the ‘Masters', Daisy is very much a ‘feelings' dancer and is renowned f or her bizarre collection of w or ds that describe exactly how a move should feel.
Together Andy and Daisy have taken their dancing across the U.K. and now internationally with regular perf or mances and classes at Dance events, Jazz-festivals, C or p or ate Entertainment days and Film sets as well as running their own classes and regular w or kshops in East Anglia, specializing in Boogie-Woogie, ‘Dean Collins' style Lindy-Hop, Balboa & Bal-swing and Collegiate Shag.
Their formidable joint knowledge, eclectic approach and sense of humour guarantees some great fun and inf or mative classes
