His exciting and innovative style of teaching is described as very clear, energetic, (sometimes evangelic), inspiring, fun, informative and very friendly, with a knack of making the most complex moves, concepts and techniques, seem oh so simple.
He's now renowned on the international dance scene for having a natural authentic style, musicality and originality whilst social dancing and teaching. Starting life as a Hip Hop, street dancer, his reportiore consists primarily of Lindy Hop, 20's Charleston, Authentic Jazz, Balboa, but can social dance other styles too including Shag, Jive, Salsa, 70's Disco, Jazz Funk and some ballroom.
Above all Joseph specialises in making the average student dance and feel like a champion and be the best they can be. This is evident, as he trained all JiveSwing teachers to swing dance and teach, where some of them have performed alongside him at the world famous 'Royal Albert Hall' and gone onto teach at national and international events.
In addition to appearing on national TV, (BBC & Channel 4), Newspapers, BBC radio and music videos, he has been regularly invited to perform, Judge competitions and teach workshops at major international dance events all over Europe, including Sweden, France, Spain, Germany, Scotland, Greece, Wales, Norway, Turkey, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Amsterdam, Israel, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, and more..
His natural talent was recognised, after winning first place in the UK Lindy Hop Championships 2002 (Strictly Lindy division), which was judged and had the trophy presented by the late Lindy Hop veteran and Legend, Mr Frankie Manning. |
